This section provides help with any
possible problems you may have using the multimedia CD with your operating
system. If you have a problem not covered in this section please
e-mail me. |
The Oils on Watercolour Paper CD has over
1400 files; over 540 pages; over 1,000 photographs; over 4000 hyperlinks;
over 30 music files; over 10 animations; over 100 video clips. It has been
tested by friends and family, even so, if you do find any errors please
e-mail me so that 'it' can be posted on the web site for everyone's benefit

Operating System.
The CD is designed to work on Microsoft®
Windows® 98 or later. (Will work with Windows
95) |
Browser.
The CD is optimised for Internet Explorer® version 5 or 6 for the best
viewing, but will work with version 4. If you would like to download
version 6, please connect to the internet then click
IE6, this will take you to Microsoft® IE® page. |
Screen Size
The multimedia CD was built to use a screen size of 800 x 600, it will not
work correctly with a screen size less then this, but will work with a
larger screen size. It was built to utilize the Highest quality (32 bit)
colour and will work with Medium quality (16 bit) colour. Your colour
setting can be found by - right click the Desktop; left click Properties;
left click the 'Settings' tab and look in the lower half of the settings
window - colour quality - adjust accordingly; left click OK. |
Auto Start.
The CD will start automatically when inserted into your CD ROM drive if
you have 'auto-play' activated. If the CD fails to start - click the start
button on the task bar; click Run; in the 'Open' box type the following -
the letter of your CD ROM drive (usually D or E) followed by :
(colon) \ (back slash) index.htm; press OK
or
Double click 'my computer' on your desktop; double click the CDROM
drive that contains the CD double click index.htm
If you would like to make your operating system automatically open a CD
when they are inserted do the following (for Windows® 95; 98; 2000) -
This is taken from the help section of the windows operating system and
can be found in your Windows® help.
Click Start,
point to Settings,
click Control Panel,
and then double-click System.
Double-click the CDROM
branch on the Device Manager tab,
and then double-click the entry for your CD-ROM drive.
On the Settings
tab, click the Auto Insert Notification
check box.
Click OK,
click Close, and then
click Yes when you are prompted to
restart your computer.

help section.
To open Volume Control, click Start, point to All
Programs, point to Accessories, point to Entertainment,
and then click Volume Control.
Make sure none have the 'mute' box ticked.
- You can use Volume Control to control the volume and speaker
balance when you play audio files.
For information about using Volume Control, click the Help
menu in Volume Control.
