The top picture shows the painting before it was mounted, the colour of the pastel card can be clearly seen. This coloured card was choose due to the large foreground area depicting the leaf 'litter' found in a Beech wood.
 The picture above just shows some of the pastel marks in more detail. The blending was completed using fingers and colour shapers, I find these very useful.
